Description

The Administrative Assistant supports the daily operations of a home health agency by performing a variety of clerical tasks. The role ensures accurate documentation, assists clinical staff, communicates with patients and families, and upholds compliance with healthcare regulations 

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (required); associates degree or health care admin certifications (preferred) 
  •  Administrative experience, preferably in health care or home health setting.  
  • Protient in Microsoft Office and electronic health record systems (EHR) systems.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities under deadlines 
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Answer phone calls, greet visitors, and provide excellent customer service to clients, families, and staff. 
  • Schedule and confirm home visits for nurses, aides, and therapist. 
  • Maintain accurate patient records and update electronic health records. (EHR) systems. 
  • Assist with billing insurance verifications and authorizations.
  • Prepare reports, letters, and other documents for clinical and administrative staff. 
  • Monitor and order office supplies; manage inventory for patient related materials. 
  • Track staff license, certifications, and in-service trainings compliance. 
  • Assist with onboarding of new employees (collecting documents, arranging training).
  • Ensure confidentiallity and HIPAA compliance at all times.
